Peeved!

Happy Friday everyone! I was bored, so I decided to come up with a list of all the little pet peeves I have when it comes to fashion. I don’t mean to offend anyone, but the following list all really bother me. I hope some of you can relate to these and I’m not being ridiculously judgmental.

To Biotin or Not – The Results

It’s been a little over a month since Claire and I first started taking this beauty pill, and like expected, we’re not seeing much of a difference. Within the first couple of weeks we both noticed our nails to be a lot stronger, shiny and healthier, other than that…nothing.

Buy it again?

m- Personally, I do not see myself purchasing another bottle of biotin in the future. I will finish out what i have and go from there. It is nice to have strong healthy nails, but with my new head start, I plan on taking better care of them.

c- I think I would buy this again. Yes, I was hoping to see more results in my skin and hair, but I am happy with the results I’ve seen in my nails. I’ve always had issues with my nails being weak and breakable, so the change I’ve seen in my nails is enough for me. Any change I may see in my hair and skin from prolonged use is just a bonus at this point.Have any of you taken Biotin? What were your results? Would you recommend it?

Guest of a Wedding

Wedding 2012

earring, skull, jewelry, leivankash
I have a wedding to attend in about a month and have no idea what I want to wear, so I decided to make few Polyvore sets to give me some inspiration. The above set is probably my favorite of the bunch. It’s pretty with a bit of edge, and I love the pop of color with the shoes and bag.

Slasher Tee

Inspiration: Nordstrom Lush Slash Back Tee $32

Nordstrom

The slash back tee DIY is as easy as it gets! Just grab an old t-shirt and a pair of sharp scissors.

Cut slits up the back of the t-shirt with about 2 inches of space in between (or whatever you prefer for the look your going for). You don’t need to worry about how straight or exact you cut the fabric, after you wash it the fabric will curl up.

You can cut the slits in a diamond, square, or any design, it’s up to you! After your shirt is cut, wet it, and throw it in the drier to rid of the blunt, straight edge look from the scissors.

Then Voila!

A new, casual slashed tee! Wear it with leggings running around town or with shorts and a bathing suit to the beach!

You can cut the neck to add a more slouchy look, and the hem around the base of the shirt and sleeves for a more frayed/curled look matching the newly slashed back.

Enjoy!

Fashion’s Night Out!

Fashion’s Night Out released a new PSA promoting the event, which is September 6th and kicks off New York Fashion Week for Spring 2013. The promo is a little cheesy (though most PSAs are) and in my opinion, features a little too much of Justin Beiber, but I do like the shirts this year. Per usual, some of the proceeds of the Fashion’s Night Out Collection benefit the New York City AIDS fund, and you can find where to purchase the t-shirts and totes (online and instore) on Fashion’s Night Out’s site. My goal next year is to plan accordingly so I can actually be in NYC for FNO and for fashion week. Will any of you be attending this year? Because I am seriously jealous!
