With Halloween a day away, coming up with a creative costume on a budget can be pretty tricky. Whether it’s a more traditional skeleton or a “sugar skull,” dressing as a skeleton is a fairly inexpensive costume and can easily be customized to your taste, mainly with face paint/makeup. I’ve gathered a few pictures here for inspiration. If going the traditional skeleton route, I think it would be easy to paint black leggings and a t-shirt to look like a skeleton.

Also, I like the idea of pairing sugar skull makeup with a pretty cocktail dress. Whenever I do elaborate makeup, I generally just find a picture I like and try to free hand it based on that. However, you may want to enlist a friend to help out.
