It wasn’t our first trip to New York, but it entailed many new experiences. We had the pleasure of attending IFBcon as volunteers and though we had to work, it was well worth it for everything we learned.
c’s favorite speaker:
I loved what Lisa Salzer from Lulu Frost had to say about doing what you love and are passionate about. She told us that we shouldn’t restrict ourselves to what is considered normal. That if you feel passionate about something you need to go out and get it. Salzer also shared a story about how she came up with the idea of one of her lines. She took room numbers off the doors of the closing Plaza Hotel and turned them into jewelry. She modernized vintage and made it her own, which I think is an awesome concept because I like the idea of taking something old and turning into something new.
m’s favorite speaker:
I really enjoyed hearing from Lydia Hudgens on how to get the best out of your photos. I have always liked dabbling in photography, but never really had any lessons in it. Hearing personal pointers on lighting, angles and backgrounds from such a great photographer was amazing, I love the feel of her photos and can’t wait to apply what I learned when taking my photos.
We learned quite a few things at the conference, had fun, and met a ton of great people along the way.
And it’s true, we didn’t get much sleep, but it was worth every minute.
Want to thank IFB and all the speakers for a great time, and a big shout out to all the sponsors for so much swag!
Until next time NYC.
