Guest of a Wedding

Wedding 2012

earring, skull, jewelry, leivankash
I have a wedding to attend in about a month and have no idea what I want to wear, so I decided to make few Polyvore sets to give me some inspiration. The above set is probably my favorite of the bunch. It’s pretty with a bit of edge, and I love the pop of color with the shoes and bag.

Skater Dresses for Summer and Fall

Skater Dresses
Skater dresses are fun and flirty and great for hot summer days/nights. They’re also an easy way to wear something trendy such as tangerine, colorblock and cut outs or something vintage inspired.
A lot of skater dresses can be good transition pieces into fall. For example, the leather River Island dress pictured below could be worn now for night and as an everyday piece in the Fall. Leather is supposed to be a big trend in the coming season. Also, a cute short-sleeved one like the Layla Skater Dress (pictured below) from Nasty Gal would look great with tights or thigh-high socks and a leather jacket for Fall. When looking for a transition piece, make sure to pick a color that’s appropriate for both seasons and can easily be updated by changing accessories or adding a cardigan or jacket.
The possibilities with skater dresses are endless. They come in a variety of prints, fabrics and colors, they’re easy to accessorize and their fit-n-flare shape flatters most body types.

What do you think of skater dresses? Love ‘em or leave ‘em?

Be Conscious

Last night, I was finally able to shop and try on some of H&M’s Conscious Collection and was pleasantly surprised.

For those of you that don’t know, the Conscious Collection, according to their website, is clothing made from “conscious materials for a more sustainable fashion future.” In other words they’re producing clothes made from organic cottons, linens and recycled materials such as polyester and wool and many more. Also, according to their website, they’re doing more than just using environmentally-friendly materials such as donating clothes to charity, using less water in their denim production and “educating garment workers in Bangladesh on their rights.” If you’d like to learn more about H&M’s conscious collection go here.
