Last Spring sneaker wedges were the cool new thing. One year later they’re still around and have opened the doors to truly embracing a tomboy look in a feminine way, such as the growing trend of wearing a baseball cap. At first, I had some resistance to this look, but after thinking about how comfortable I used to be as a tomboy as a child, it’s making more sense to me. This look also has a laid-back ease to it that’s a little edgy but still girly. So you could dive right into your boyfriend’s closet or you could try out some of these looks I’ve found!

I’m more than happy that leather is sticking around for the warmer weather. Usually we’re stuck with nothing but ruffles for Spring, so it’s nice to see something with a bit more of an edge. DKNY Spring 2013
Usually military gets all the attention in Fall, but this Spring it’s getting a fresh update. It was on the runways for Spring and is now everywhere in streetstyle. We mentioned camo print in our St. Patty’s Day post, but I thought this one deserved a second look. In all honesty, I don’t think I’ve worn camo print since it was cool to wear it in shades of pink, when I was in around the 6th grade. However, the laid-back ease that the revival of the camo print trend brings this time around has me wanting to give it another try. And it’s not just camo print, there are hints of military themes popping up in everything from jackets to jewelry.

6 Days…Black and White and White and Black
03/14/2013

Black and white has to be one of the biggest trends this Spring. It was all over the runways, as seen above from Marc Jacobs and Alexander Wang, and now it’s everywhere in stores. I especially loved how Marc Jacobs paired different black and white patterns together.
This high-contrast look is great because of its diversity. It can easily be interpreted as edgy, mod, pretty, or extra bold by mixing different black and white prints.
One Week Until Spring…Pantone Color Report
03/13/2013
Each season we like to do a countdown of all the trends we’re most excited about, and we always like to kick it off with Pantone’s Color Report. The color of the year Emerald is, of course, present along with many currently popular pastels. Grayed Jade seems to be a fancy name for the resilient mint green, that has been trendy since last year. I like that most of the colors have a muted tone to them. I think I’m most excited about African Violet!
To celebrate this Spring’s color report, I decided to find a dress in each color:
